Under the Open Disruptive Innovation topic, 29 projects from 12 countries have been pre-selected for funding.The Executive Agency for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises announced the results of the evaluation of proposals submitted before the first cut-off date of the SME Instrument – Phase 1.
In total, 155 projects from 21 countries have been pre-selected for funding. They will receive €50,000 to finance a feasibility study and up to 3 days of mentoring. Out of the 2 666 proposals submitted, 2602 were eligible and 317 succeeded in a score above the threshold. In the context of the Open Disruptive Innovationtopic, now 107 projects out of 886 proposals evaluated, passed the threshold and 29 projects were pre-selected for funding.
The results of the first evaluation exercise can function as lesson for future applicants, as they demonstrate that the non-selected applications submitted ideas with a very low level of innovation and market potential. The next cut-off date for Phase 1 is on 24 September.
