Nature-based Solutions (NbS) are increasingly recognized as essential components of resilient and sustainable urban and regional water systems. Yet, their successful implementation and long-term performance depend on robust monitoring frameworks, well-defined metrics, and effective maintenance strategies.

This webinar, organised by Water Europe’s Green–Grey Infrastructure and NbS (GGI&NbS) Expert Group, examines how digital innovation is reshaping the way we assess, manage, and sustain NbS. It aims to foster cross-sector dialogue, highlight emerging opportunities, and support the development of scalable, data-driven approaches to NbS implementation and stewardship.

As the second event in a dedicated series managed by the GGI&NbS Expert Group, the webinar brings together experts from academia, industry, and urban and rural planning to explore the following key themes:

– Highlight the added value of digitalization as a catalyst for enhancing the sustainability and scalability of Nature-based Solutions (NbS) infrastructure and explore maintenance strategies strengthened by digital innovation and facilitate dialogue to promote collaboration and best practices in smart NbS implementation.

– Showcase advanced digital tools and platforms applied to the monitoring of NbS infrastructures through three case studies (Cases 1, 2, and 3) representing increasing Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs).
