intoDBP Final Conference

The EU-funded intoDBP project will host its Final Conference on 22–23 September 2026 at the Auditori Manel Xifra Boada, Parc Científic i Tecnològic de la UdG, in Girona, Spain.

Under the theme “Innovative tools to control organic matter and disinfection by-products in drinking water”, the two-day event will bring together researchers, water utilities, regulators, technology providers and policymakers to exchange knowledge and explore practical pathways towards safer drinking water from source to tap.

The conference will present the project’s main results, including innovative tools and strategies designed to protect catchments, manage natural organic matter, predict and control disinfection by-products, and reduce human exposure without compromising disinfection efficacy. Lessons and outcomes from intoDBP’s four complementary case studies in Cyprus, Spain and Ireland will also be shared.

The programme will feature international keynote speakers, scientific and contributed oral presentations, a poster exhibition, interactive panel discussions and networking opportunities. Particular attention will be given to practical implementation, policy developments and the risk-based approach introduced by the Drinking Water Directive (EU) 2020/2184.

Researchers and practitioners are invited to submit a 50–100-word abstract for an oral or poster presentation by 4 September 2026. Submissions should be sent to intodbp2026conference@icra.cat.
