Water Europe is proud to announce its role as a co-organizer of the upcoming engagement event, “Soil-Water Nexus: Advancing Resilient Agroecosystems Through Living Lab Synergies,” scheduled for August 21, 2025. This hybrid event, held in Oulu, Finland, and online, will convene leading stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive innovation at the critical intersection of soil health and water management, directly supporting the ambitions of the EU Mission Soil.
The event addresses the urgent need to build resilient agroecosystems in the face of climate change and environmental pressures. Recognizing that healthy soil and clean water are inextricably linked, this gathering provides a vital platform for researchers, policymakers, farmers, innovators, and community representatives to exchange knowledge and co-create solutions. It is set within the dynamic Finnish research and innovation landscape, offering both local and pan-European perspectives on sustainable land and water management.
Attendees will have the unique opportunity to engage with high-level speakers, participate in an expert panel discussion, and discover cutting-edge innovations during a dedicated pitching session. A key highlight of the event is an exclusive field visit to the LUKE Ruukki research station, offering practical, on-the-ground insights into the impactful activities of a real-world Living Lab.
The program is designed to foster meaningful connections and collaborative action. Participants will be able to network and schedule meetings through the SOILL matchmaking platform, further strengthening the collaborative spirit of the event.
The event is open to all stakeholders committed to shaping the future of European agriculture and environmental health. Participation is possible both in-person at the University of Oulu, Finland, and online, ensuring broad accessibility.
