Water Europe is inviting you to two dedicated days of exchange, collaboration, and forward-looking discussion focused on Europe’s water future.
Taking place in Brussels on 03–04 June 2026, the event will combine a dedicated Community Day for the Water Europe community with a broader strategic forum focused on the development of the Water-Smart Technology Roadmap.
At a time when Europe is strengthening its focus on resilience, competitiveness, strategic autonomy, and implementation capacity, the water sector has a central role to play in shaping the transition towards a Water-Smart Society and Economy.
These two days will bring together actors from across the water value chain to discuss priorities, innovation pathways, implementation challenges, and enabling conditions for accelerating Europe’s water transition.
The Day 1 focuses on understanding the strategic context shaping Europe’s water sector, reflecting on the contribution of collaborative ecosystems and discussing the challenges that continue to limit deployment and implementation.
Provide the strategic context for the two-day working process and explain the rationale, objectives and expected outputs of the meeting.
Reflect on the contribution of the current Collaboration Matrix cycle and identify opportunities to further strengthen collaboration, knowledge exchange and community engagement in support of Water Europe strategic objectives.
Reflect on the challenges that continue to limit the deployment, replication and uptake of water innovations and explore possible pathways to accelerate implementation and impact.
The second morning focuses on the WE Water-Smart Technology Roadmap as a strategic and operational instrument supporting implementation, deployment, resilience and competitiveness.
Building on the reflections and priorities emerging from Day 1, participants will contribute to identifying technology priorities, deployment pathways and enabling conditions required to accelerate the transition towards a Water-Smart Society and Economy.
Present the current status of the Roadmap, share findings and identify key areas requiring further development.
Translate priorities and findings into practical recommendations supporting the future development and operationalisation of the Roadmap.
