Water Knowledge Europe BlueDeal 2025, combined with the Blue Deal Conference, under the patronage of the EU Presidency, represents a critical juncture for shaping the future of water in Europe and beyond. This event will run over three days, providing an opportunity to tackle urgent water challenges at a time when water resilience, security, and sustainability are becoming central to both European and global policy agendas. Within ongoing global geopolitical tensions, this set of events take on added significance, as Europe seeks to reinforce its global competitiveness and sustainability efforts.
In this critical moment, where Europe’s water challenges are interlaced with global sustainability and geopolitical concerns, Water Knowledge Europe BlueDeal 2025 and the Blue Deal Conference will offer a unique space for advancing research, innovation, and policy integration. It will also highlight innovative models, including Water-Oriented Living Labs (WOLLs), which bridge research with real-world applications, advancing resilience and sustainability across sectors.
The event aims to align efforts across sectors and stakeholders, ensuring that Europe can lead the way in fostering a Water-Smart Society while strengthening its position on the global scenario.
Water Europe Expert Groups (WE EGs) are specialized groups that unite experts from diverse sides of the water value chain to exchange and advance knowledge, solutions, and strategies in a specific field, supporting the transition to a Water-Smart Society. These groups located at the core of our collaboration programme play a pivotal role in driving innovation and providing evidence-based input to our advocacy and implementation programmes.
Water Europe Communities of Practice (WE CoPs) are collaborative, water use- or context-based forums designed to bring together Water Europe members and non-members alike. These dynamic spaces provide a platform to share success stories and address critical challenges on the path to achieving a Water-Smart Society.
Exclusive to WE Ambassadors and VIP guests, by invitation only.
The purpose of the event is to offer a multi-sectoral and diverse perspective on future challenges related to implementing a comprehensive water strategy for Europe. The Blue Deal Congress, organized under the patronage of the Polish Presidency, will include participation from the Polish Minister of Infrastructure, the Minister of Climate and Environment, and Polish Waters (the primary entity responsible for national water management). Given that security is a priority for the Polish Presidency, one key topic will be ensuring water security in the agri-food and energy nexus, highlighting the economic value of water. We will also discuss good practices currently in place in the water sector.
Participants:
Polish government representatives (Ministry of Infrastructure, Ministry of Climate and Environment), water authorities (Polish Waters), regional authorities, the European Commission, Members of the Polish Parliament, Members of the European Parliament, businesses involved in the water sector, and experts in addressing water challenges
