Water Project Europe – From Alternative Water to Circular Solutions

Thon Hotel EU, Brussels, Belgium

Climate change is reshaping the way Europe thinks about water. Scarcity, competing uses, and rising uncertainty are no longer distant scenarios but pressing realities. Across the continent, projects like MARCLAIMED, AWARD, and RECREATE, which together have formed the AWR4CLIMATE cluster (Alternative Water Resources for Climate), are testing new ways of unlocking Alternative Water Resources, whether through aquifer recharge, smarter reservoir management, or innovative reuse schemes, offering tangible solutions for resilience.

Yet, these innovations can only thrive when connected to a broader vision, where water is managed not as a linear resource but as part of a circular system. This is where CIRSEAU and BOOST-IN bring their strength, helping to embed such practices into the systemic framework of water circularity, breaking barriers, scaling knowledge, and shaping policies that matter.

We bring these five projects together under the Water Projects Europe event to tell a single story: how pioneering demonstrations and systemic strategies can converge to accelerate the transition towards a Water-Smart Society and Economy and align to the goals of the EU Water . This is not only about technologies and pilots but about weaving them into the bigger picture, linking climate adaptation with circularity, innovation with governance, and projects with policies that will define Europe’s water future.

Please not that the event will be held during the Water Knowledge Europe event, at the Thon Hotel EU (Rue de la Loi 75, 1040 Brussels), Participants who wish to stay at the same venue of the event can benefit from a special discount using this link. Please note that the booking discount is available until 31 October.
