This Water Projects Euroope brings together four pioneering Horizon Europe funded projects, FARMWISE, UniversWater, RAINS, and GEORGIA, each tackling critical aspects of water-smart agriculture through complementary approaches.
FARMWISE focuses on developing a cutting-edge system that integrates AI, remote sensing, and precision farming technologies to provide region-specific insights into water and nutrient management. UNIVERSWATER is building integrative frameworks for circular water economy and stakeholder engagement, fostering sustainable governance models. RAINS advances remote sensing and precision agriculture techniques to optimise water use and resource recovery on farms. Meanwhile, GEORGIA develops innovative data integration and decision support systems to boost resilience and efficiency in agricultural water management.
The scope of this Water Projects Europe is to showcase these diverse but yet interconnected innovation approaches and foster knowledge exchange, discover shared challenges such as scalability and policy alignment, and unlock synergies. This to accelerate the transition towards a resilient, sustainable, secure and water-smart agri-food system across Europe.
Through this clustering efforts, the projects can support shaping an actionable roadmap that bridges scientific advances with practical implementation, supporting the achievement of a Water-Smart Society and Economy.
