In the face of mounting pressure to decarbonize, reduce waste, and reclaim critical resources, industrial sectors across Europe are undergoing a water revolution. Water Projects Europe presents an exclusive spotlight on three ground-breaking Horizon Europe projects, RESURGENCE, CORNERSTONE, and R3VOLUTION, that are paving the way toward a truly circular, resource-efficient, and climate-neutral industrial future.
Industrial water use accounts for nearly half of all water withdrawals in Europe, placing enormous pressure on freshwater ecosystems and energy systems alike. In today’s climate and policy landscape, shaped by the EU Green Deal, the Zero Pollution Action Plan, and rising concerns over water scarcity, transforming how industries manage, and reuse water is not just a technical necessity but a political and environmental imperative.
By putting the spotlight on industrial water, this session highlights a key yet often overlooked lever for accelerating the green transition, enhancing Europe’s resilience, and ensuring that sustainability and competitiveness go hand in hand.
As sister projects RESURGENCE, CORNERSTONE, and R3VOLUTION come together to share cutting-edge insights and collaborative solutions for the future of industrial water use.
This Water Projects Europe session will bring together leading experts, project partners, and policymakers to explore synergies across these innovative initiatives, share policy insights, and co-create pathways toward sustainable industrial water management across Europe.
