The iMERMAID project is excited to announce the launch of its second Open Call for local and regional authorities, aimed at fostering innovation in water remediation and reducing chemical contaminants of emerging concern. Applications are open from January 22nd to April 3rd, 2025, with a total funding pool of €500,000, offering up to €100,000 per project.
This initiative seeks to enable impactful and scalable solutions for upstream water ecosystem restoration, inviting local and regional authorities across the EU and associated countries to join this critical mission.

- Upstream Chemical Pollution Detection: Developing innovative approaches to monitor, map, and identify pollution hotspots.

- Open Topic: Proposals that do not fit within the defined domains but align with iMERMAID’s objectives and the nine-month programme framework are welcome.

Five selected projects will receive financial and technical support to demonstrate, replicate, and scale innovative solutions that address chemical pollution and contribute to sustainable water resource management.
