“We must be water-smart and prioritise what matters most” was echoed today in the EP Plenary Session by Thomas Bajada before the final adoption with 470 votes in favour of the crucial EP Report on the Water Resilience Strategy.
Demonstrating clearly that “water resilience is a key priority for so many people and businesses”, as stated by Commissioner Roswall, the Water Resilience Strategy sets the right direction for mainstreaming water across sectors.
From supporting nature-based solutions, to pushing for greater investments in the water sector and leveraging the benefits of digitalisation and innovation, the Report also focus on quantity and quality of water as well as governance aspects including transboundary cooperation and source-to-sea approach.
Water Europe welcomes this report and is looking forward to contribute to the implementation of the Strategy. Water Europe is actively advocating in delivering an ambitious water strategy for Europe.
