The first edition of the annual World Water Development Report (WWDR) has been launched by the World Water Assessment Programme, a programme of UN-Water hosted by UNESCO, during the main World Water Day celebrations in Tokyo, on 21st March 2014.
In view of the post-2015 Sustainable Development Goals, the report addresses the theme “Water and Energy” in 2014 and provides a comprehensive overview of major and emerging trends from around the world, with examples of how some of the trend-related challenges have been addressed, their implications for policy-makers, and further actions that can be taken by stakeholders and the international community.
