Water Europe and the European Commission will co-organise an exclusive workshop on the EU Water Resilience Investment Accelerator during Water Innovation Europe 2026, taking place in Dublin on 13–14 October.
The workshop will be held on 14 October from 11:15 to 12:45 and will focus on how Europe can accelerate investment in innovative and scalable water-resilience solutions by bringing together project owners, solution providers, utilities, investors and other stakeholders across the water investment ecosystem.
The EU Water Resilience Investment Accelerator is one of the actions linked to the implementation of the European Water Resilience Strategy. Its objective is to help promising projects move closer to investment and deployment by strengthening connections between innovative solutions, financing opportunities and available advisory support.
The session will provide participants with an opportunity to contribute directly to the discussion on how innovative financing approaches, good practices and EU support mechanisms can help projects become more investment-ready and scale successfully across Europe. Particular attention will also be given to identifying successful projects that could be replicated or scaled up and to strengthening connections between projects, investors and the wider water investment ecosystem.
The workshop will open with Arthur Valkieser, Vice-President for Implementation at Water Europe and Chair of CEN/TC 478 on Water Resilience and Efficiency, who will set the scene on implementation.
Pernille Weiss-Ehler, Member of the Cabinet of Commissioner Jessika Roswall, will present the scope and objectives of the Accelerator, current actions and next steps from the European Commission perspective.
The programme will also include perspectives from the utilities and investment communities, with contributions from Oliver Loebel, Secretary General of EurEau, and Job van Schelven, Partner at PuraTerra Ventures and representative of Water Europe’s Community of Practice on a Water-Smart Economy, subject to confirmation.
A substantial part of the workshop will be dedicated to a structured discussion with the audience, allowing participants to share experience, identify investment barriers and contribute ideas on how to strengthen Europe’s water investment ecosystem.
The workshop forms part of the programme of Water Innovation Europe 2026, Water Europe’s flagship event, which will bring together policymakers, industry leaders, utilities, investors, innovators and researchers in Dublin to advance the implementation of Europe’s water resilience ambitions.
The workshop will take place on 14 October 2026, from 11:15 to 12:45, in Dublin.
