From 30 September to 1 October, the partners of the Horizon Europe project WATERGRID gathered in Plymouth (UK) for the project’s Kick-off Meeting, hosted by the project’s coordinator Westcountry Rivers Trust. The meeting was an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaboration between our 22 partners from 13 countries, exchange expertise, and set a common path for the journey ahead.
Over two inspiring days, partners laid the foundations for a four-year collaboration to put the Smart Water Grid (SWG) concept into practice. The project partners set a shared vision for the next four years: managing water resources and enhancing climate resilience through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) and Integrated Catchment Management.
Presentations of the demonstration and validation sites for Smart Water Grids across Europe, already brought the concept to life across Europe. A walking tour of the Duchy College site which showcased several nature-based solutions already in place provided practical insights and a couple of wet boots. Water Europe is very happy to be part of this new consortium.
