Climate change has significantly impacted freshwater availability and threatened agricultural production worldwide. The Eastern Peloponnese, a key citrus and olive-producing area in the EU, has long struggled with water scarcity. Greener than Green Technologies aims to drive the transition of water-intensive industries towards circular production models. We develop technologies and methodologies for remediating and reusing industrial water byproducts, while enabling the extraction, purification, and commercial exploitation of valuable compounds typically lost through wastewater. This not only enhances industrial resilience but also creates new revenue streams by commercializing these high-value compounds in their purest forms.
By adopting circular economy principles and stakeholder-driven business models, our approach will foster swift industry adoption and generate new value chains and symbiotic systems between industries, water providers, and communities. Our solution is fully aligned with EU legislation and its strategy on water reuse, further bolstering the potential for success. Through these innovations, we aim to address water scarcity, support sustainable agriculture, and contribute to EU water-related policies.
