The Workshop “Digitalization of Bathing Water Management” organized by Water Europe (WE), together with the Horizon 2020 project digital-water.city, the EU-LIFE project iBathWater and the Synergea project was held successfully online on the 5th of April.
Hosted by Pascale Rouault, KWB Department Leader urban systems, Co-Leader of Water Europe’s Working Group Water & Zero Pollution, the contributions of Sylvia Bartolini (EC, Head of Unit DG ENV.C2 Marine Environment & Water Industry), Maja Dorota Feder (Policy Assistant, Clean Water Services, DG ENV) on the current status of the BWD and a lot of other interesting speakers made this workshop a success.
Besides discussing and exchanging on the matter, speakers and participants were able to draw concrete recommendations on the BWD and explore digital innovations in order to achieve safe bathing areas across Europe, protecting the environment and the public health in line with a Water-Smart Society.
