BOOST-IN project kicks-off in Malaga

Share

The newly EU-funded project, BOOST-IN, officially launched its activities in Malaga on January 23 and 24. The project is dedicated to implementing a comprehensive strategy within the water sector to promote circular economy practices. BOOST-IN focuses on driving technological advancements, governance changes, mindset shifts, and organizational restructuring. This objective is pursued through the facilitation of the transfer of innovative Water Circular Economy Solutions (WACES) and initiatives. The project aims to encourage water cycle closure, water reuse, and the recovery of energy, nutrients, and by-products from wastewater, drawing insights from real-life experiences in the circular economy.

BOOST-IN will develop and apply its approach in six regions of opportunity evenly distributed across Europe, including Spain, Greece, Germany, France, Italy, and Bulgaria. These regions were strategically selected based on their potential for circular economy implementation, influenced by external factors such as water scarcity, end-user needs, policymakers’ interest, existing social barriers, and strong connections with project partners.

The three-year project is funded by Horizon Europe and coordinated by BIOAZUL. Bringing together the expertise of 12 partners from 9 countries across the EU, Water Europe is pleased to lead the communications and dissemination activities of the project.
